Founded in 1891, during the second industrial revolution, NKT pioneered the cable industry in the Nordics. Today, NKT master the fourth industrial revolution with their energy transportation expertise and cost-effective manufacturing facilities at the highest technological level, delivering lifetime value to their customers and the global society.

We accompany NKT on their journey towards a holistic audio branding and audio brand management. Our collaboration began with an initial brand check and has developed into a comprehensive approach with a distinctive audio identity.

 

Together, we have established consistent, brand-focused communication. Through close cooperation and impressions from the production site in Germany, we have created a solution with a truly international perspective - making the mission of NKT to connect a greener world audible at every touchpoint.​​​​

Project Outline

Challenge

​Facing the task of resolving previously inconsistent brand communication. With an international focus and key topics like recruiting, sustainability, and digitalization, NKT needed a recognizable audio identity that brings their mission “We connect a greener world” to life and reflects the distinct Nordic and rugged character.

Methodology​

Together with comevis, a holistic audio branding strategy is developed and nurtured, while Audio Brand Management is powerfully steered. This includes a unique Sonic Code/Audio DNA and the creation of brand vibes rooted in NKT’s brand identity.

Outcome

NKT benefits from a distinctive, Nordic-inspired audio branding that unfolds consistently across all use cases. The strategically guided audio brand management delivers strong recognition, strengthens the brand in international markets, and provides orientation for applicants, external partners and clients.

Strategy

The auditive strategy of NKT is built on comprehensive audio brand management that guides the distinctive, Nordic-inspired audio identity across all international markets. It is an approach that conveys brand values and emotion, brought to life through a modular Brand Sound Library. This systematized branding ensures consistent recognition while allowing creative flexibility to address strategic priorities such as employer branding, sustainability, and digitalization.

Transformation

The project marks the transition from fragmented to cohesive brand communication through targeted audio brand management, establishing a unified and memorable audio identity. By leveraging AI-driven processes and an intelligent audio infrastructure, NKT can now quickly adapt to diverse communication needs while ensuring a consistent brand experience. This strengthens internal collaboration and external perception, positioning NKT as an innovative and future-oriented brand.

Empowerment

To enable broad and independent use of the new audio branding, NKT has introduced the Brand Sound Library together with the VADio Profiler and the VADio Creator. With structured access and intuitive navigation, employees across the company can create and adapt brand-compliant audio content for diverse requirements. The tool-based structure increases efficiency and ensures consistency while maintaining agility.

The NKT Brand Sound Library offers around 90 curated, brand-compliant audio assets for a wide range of use cases, such as employer branding, image, or product videos. It also includes a brand mood and a set of brand vibes that capture the core essence of NKT.

The VADio Profiler enables targeted access to all audio assets in the Brand Sound Library. Search and filter functions, as well as easy downloads, ensure an intuitive user experience.

Additionally, VADio Fuse enables seamless integration of audio assets with video content for unified brand experiences.

With state-of-the-art TTS technology, professional voice content can be designed intuitively. For NKT, exclusive brand voices were newly developed and seamlessly embedded into the Creator.
